Born and raised in Atlanta GA, I actually found my love for fishing in Michigan, where my family would take an annual vacation to visit Grandpa Ray. Once I caught the bug there, it never left and anywhere I found a body of water I had a line wet.

I mainly fished for warm water species in ponds, on Lake Lanier, and Lake Hartwell. I would frequently pull a fly rod out to throw poppers to bream and bass.

My species of choice and love of fly fishing changed several years ago when I was driving across the Chattahoochee River and saw a man fishing from a kayak.  I realized that I had lived within 15 minutes of the river and only been on it once as a child.

I bought my own kayak and started chasing trout with ultra-light tackle, then remembered the old fly rod I threw poppers with was in the basement.  Game over, lights out, the fat lady sang, I found my thrill.

I have committed countless hours each week fishing, reading, tying flies, and competing with Team Dead Drift in the Trout Legend Fly Fishing League.  Last year in my inaugural year I ended up 22nd in the league and hope to improve on that this year.

I am eager to share the extensive knowledge I have attained by spending countless hours on the water and fishing with some of the best in the world, including anglers that represent our country on Team USA.
