Hailing from a family deeply rooted in Hunting and Fishing, Randy was literally born into the outdoor lifestyle.   He spent every possible second of his early childhood chasing the multitude of species that surround Lake Ontario and her tributaries.  At the age of 14, Randy and his family moved to the coastal town of Wilmington, NC, where he was introduced to the multitude of fly-crazed species that inhabit the marshes and shoreline of the Atlantic.   While certainly not complaining, it was his passion of pursuing his adiposed brethren that kept him spending countless hours behind the wheel commuting to the Southern Appalachians.  It was there he realized his true career path.

Over the past 15 years, Randy has spent time guiding the rivers surrounding Alaska’s Bristol Bay and Kenai Peninsula.  He’s continually out on the water!  And if he’s not working with clients, or out on the water himself, he’s racking hours behind the vise, or painting his piscatorial friends.

Over the last few years, As a competitive fly angler, Randy has had the opportunity to not only compete against, but learn from some of Team USA’s most gifted anglers.  The Southeast is home to most of our nations angling team, and their friendship, generosity, and knowledge is an immense gift! One that is never taken for granted and continues today.

If you ask Randy what his passion is now, he would be quick to tell you that it’s sharing the art, culture, and conservation of fly fishing with others, especially the youth.  “This life has given me so much! To share what I have experienced, to see their faces after catching/releasing a fish is the ultimate rush for me…and to have the opportunity to do it 24/7 -365?  What else can you ask for?!!”

His patience, knowledge, and enthusiasm is truly infectious to all those around.  If you want a day you’ll never forget, look no further than Randy!
